According to DappRadar, the trading volume of non-fungible tokens in 2021 reached $23 billion against 100 million in 2020. OpenSea remains the most active platform.

DappRadar monitors over 30 networks supporting decentralized applications. Analysts estimate that the number of unique active wallets using NFT on a daily basis grew from 5,000 at the beginning of the year to about 140,000 at the end of the year. The most expensive NFT in 2021 was a collage painting by street artist Beeple called "The First 5000 Days". It was sold as NFT for $69.3 million. The second place by sale price is occupied by another painting by the same artist called Human One, which was auctioned in November for $29 million.

 

The most expensive NFT collection is the Bored Ape Yacht Club. BAYC surpassed CryptoPunks by market cap of $3.22 billion versus $2.55 billion. According to DappRadar, the 100 largest NFT collections have a combined market capitalization of $16.7 billion.

OpenSea remains the largest NFT marketplace. Its annual turnover is estimated at $14 billion versus $21.7 million in 2020. The site's revenue from fees (2.5% of each NFT purchase and sale transaction) in 2021 amounted to $351.6 million.
