The team behind Pointshelf, a Mumbai-based smartphone payments and loyalty app, revealed plans to add bitcoin to their system soon. The app is design to facilitate payments for dining out, food and beverage.
Bitcoin integration will be launched next month in a private beta. The decision to adopt bitcoin was motivated by the intention to provide seamless and convenient customer experience. Pointshelf wrote on Twitter:

Pointshelf has an established partnership with 80 firms in the F&B sector and sees its mission in linking customers with merchants. The app can be downloaded on Android or iOS phones. With Pointshelf users can pay for meals at local restaurants and shops using their mobile phone. The app allows users to split a bill, add tips, and gain loyalty reward points. The app operates in Indian rupees.
An Indian payment processor, ePaisa, which works with 500 merchants, integrated bitcoin payments into their mobile Point of Sale app. The service became available to retailers in five cities in India with special focus on Mumbai and Delhi. ePaisa is designed specifically for smaller merchants. CoinFox reported earlier that eTravelSmart, an Indian bus ticket online portal, started to accept bitcoin payments through a partnership with the leading Indian bitcoin platform Unocoin.
