Bitcoin.com Forum and News Platform has been officially launched this week, overseen by bitcoin investor and evangelist Roger Ver.

The new platform is targeted at both new and veteran members of bitcoin community and has a goal to increase the awareness of cryptocurrencies. The Forum has sections in various languages including Russian, Chinese, Greek, Turkish and many others. Users are encouraged to register and share posts on the forum to be able to win $1,000 in bitcoin prize or 4 BTC for the most appreciated post. The submission deadline for the competition is either when the forum reaches 10,000 registered users or if it has 5,000 registered users by 1 January, 2016, whichever comes sooner. On that day a thread will be opened on the forum to gather all nominated posts and after two weeks the polling will begin and last for another two weeks.

“I’ll pay someone $1,000 in bitcoin just for talking about bitcoin,” Roger Ver announced on his twitter page.

Ver also gave examples of the posts he already appreciated on the new forum. These include a post by Charlie Shrem from federal prison, a post with a link to the list of free cypherpunk and crypto-anarchy books and papers, an overview of bitcoin hardware wallets, and a summary about bitcoin documentaries.

The platform is a commercial project which also has an innovative advertising system that allows companies to bid for their ads to be displayed on the website. Everyone interested is encouraged to set up a subdomain under the main bitcoin.com domain.
Bitcoin.com has a page where users can buy bitcoins from a selected exchange as well as a page with wallets where anyone can choose a wallet or promote their own product.
