Living Room of Satoshi, an Australian start-up that provides an opportunity to pay “everyday bills” in bitcoins without any fees, has processed more than $1 million.
“Our customers have proved that the Blockchain is a viable alternative to the expensive and inefficient de facto banking payment networks. Over $1 million of electricity bills, school fees and even tax payments show that everyday banking can happen on the Blockchain, and I expect to see much more in 2016,” says the start-up’s CEO Daniel Alexiuc.
The company claims to charge no fees and help access more than 19,000 payment receivers all over the country. In 2015 it was chosen the Best New Start-up in Australia and got the Best state start-up award for Queensland.
The payments made by Living Room of Satoshi users are listed on the start-up’s website in accordance with so-called Categories (Rent, Water, Shopping, Fines, etc.) and by dollar amount.
The company also provides its own “Satoshi★Pay” API which helps to add bitcoin payment option to bills.
Living Room of Satoshi start-up features the name of Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of bitcoin digital currency. This year he was suggested for Nobel Prize despite the fact that no one knows who Satoshi is. The last person to have gained public attention as the individual who possibly stands behind the alias is an eccentric Australian academician and entrepreneur Craig Wright.
