The IOTA price continues to grow, jumping by more than three-fold in a week. Its capitalization reached almost $10 billion, pushing Ripple from fourth place in the cryptocurrency ranking.

The token of the decentralized IoT-platform IOTA does not stop to grow at a dramatically rapid pace. IOTA's price reached $3.6 per coin, and the capitalization moved closer to $10 billion. According to CoinMarketCap, IOTA is ranked currently as the fourth cryptocurrency by capitalization, outperforming Ripple and giving way only to Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash.

In terms of trading volume, IOTA became the second most traded cryptocurrency after bitcoin, with $1.254 billion of trading volume in the last 24 hours.

IOTA began to grow last week after it announced the launch of a decentralized data marketplace. The reason for investors' optimism is that this project is supported by such world giants as Microsoft, Fujitsu, Bosch, Deutsche Telekom, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Accenture, and others.

The marketplace allows to sell, buy and transfer information from connected devices. This information may be used for machine learning or intellectual analytics. Companies participating in the project will gradually connect their equipment to the marketplace, transferring data collected by sensors, such as, for example, location-specific environmental data or anonymized healthcare data from wearables.
