The Ministry of Finance supports the idea of legalization of cryptocurrency trading, but exchanges will have to obtain official status.

Deputy Finance Minister of Russia Alexey Moiseev disclosed plans of Russian authorities to allow the cryptocurrency trading. The forthcoming bill on cryptocurrencies will contain corresponding paragraphs, Moiseev said.

"We do not want to over limit and overregulate, but we will set some limits. The general idea that it will be allowed to buy and sell cryptocurrencies only on exchanges with official status and assets will have to be declared and legalized."

But meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance still can not determine the list of such official exchanges.

"This is the most unresolved issue," Moiseev revealed.

Moiseev added that the Ministry of Finance plans to introduce a bill on cryptocurrencies to the State Duma in February.

Earlier, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov spoke in favor of limiting cryptocurrency trading. According to the minister, it should be allowed only for professional market participants to trade cryptocurrency on exchanges.
