Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash will develop more rapidly than bitcoin, says cryptomillionaire Roger Ver. And by the end of 2018, bitcoin will loose its status of the most valuable cryptocurrency.

Roger Ver, well-known for his support of Bitcoin Cash, once again made an attack against the original bitcoin. According to Ver, the bitcoin protocol abounds in flaws, and these defects will eventually lead to decreasing interest in the first cryptocurrency.

According to him, many of the more than 1,600 existing cryptocurrencies were created in order to offer more reliable and efficient solutions than bitcoin.

Ethereum will surpass bitcoin in 2018, and Bitcoin Cash will take center stage in the cryptocurrency system by 2020.

"I see it happening, and I believe it's imminent," Ver told The Independent. "Ethereum could overtake bitcoin by the end of the year and bitcoin cash could do the same before 2020."

Ver is not the only one who predicts that Ethereum will surpass bitcoin. At the end of 2017, Alexis Ohanian, Internet entrepreneur, investor, and co-founder of Reddit, said that, in 2018m Ethereum could grow to $15,000 in price, and its market capitalization would beat bitcoin. The same assumption was made by Olaf Carlson-Wee, chief executive officer of the cryptocurrency hedge fund Polychain Capital. According to him, "Ethereum is a much richer, organic developer ecosystem develop very, very quickly."

But there are opponents of this opinion. Michael Jackson from venture company Mangrove Capital believes that bitcoin will overcome all its problems that the network is currently facing.

"There is so much talent in the crypto space, and people are working on solving these scalability problems. I do not see why Bitcoin should not remain in the number one spot. It is still the best known and it is ultimately the reserve currency in the space. "
