The Emercoin team has developed EmerDNS: decentralized domain names on the basis of the Emercoin blockchain.

Closure or restriction of work portals — the loss of money and audience for the owner and a great disappointment for users.

When the bans started to get useful portals and resources, the team developed Emercoin EmerDNS: decentralized domain names on the basis of the Emercoin blockchain.
Remember: DNS is a database linking domain names to IP addresses. It is possible to present it in the form of cards; combining at the map a few coordinates, you get to the desired point. States have special access to "the map" and can deny access to a single "destination" – to block sites.

Alternative DNS servers – same map, only special access by the "powers that be" to it. In other words, it is the ability for users not to depend on traditional DNS and to prevent blocking of Internet resources.

DNS records on the Emercoin blockchain is completely decentralized and can't be changed, withdrawn or suspended by any authority, except the users – the creators of the records. If you are a website owner, you need not be afraid that your resource will be blocked. If you are a normal user you will have access to even the blocked websites.

Use EmerDNS through OpenNIC (a non-profit organization serving free several domain zones: .lib .bbs .indy, .fur, .null .coin .chan .oss .neo .pirate .emc .gopher .dyn .parody, .bazar .o .libre .geek) and directly. In the configuration of your computer (or router) IP addresses of DNS servers from OpenNIC user automatically gets the domain names Emer.
