The number of articles mentioning bitcoin in the free search engine for scientific publications Google Scholar jumped 19.1% within one year. The most common issues analyzed are bitcoin price fluctuations and market manipulations.

In 2019, 13,700 scientific publications mentioning bitcoin were indexed by the Google Scholar search engine. This is 19.13% more than a year earlier, noticed prominent bitcoin developer and technical director of Casa Hodl Jameson Lopp.

10 years ago, in 2009, there were less than a hundred such publications. The most rapid growth in the number of publications was demonstrated after the explosive growth of the bitcoin price in 2017. Between 2017 and 2018, the number of published articles mentioning bitcoin jumped 78%.
