During the Series C funding round, crypto wallet service operator Blockchain.com raised $300 million from a group of private investors. The company's overall valuation rose to $5.2 billion.

Blockchain.com, the operator of the Bitcoin blockchain tracker and crypto wallet service, raised $300 billion in a Series C funding round, raising the company's total valuation to $5.2 billion. The funding round was led by investment companies Lightspeed Venture Partners, and VY Capital. The previous round of funding took place in February 2021. Then Blockchain.com raised $120 million from a group of investors.

The attracted investments are planned to be directed to "aggressively expand" the line of products and services, to strengthen the global team, and for mergers and acquisitions, said Blockchain.com CEO Peter Smith.

According to Blockchain.com, the company's user base is more than 31 million verified clients from more than 200 countries around the world. Over the past 12 months, the number of active users has tripled.

Blockchain.com is one of the pioneers in the cryptocurrency market. The service was launched in 2011, two years after the creation of the frist cryptocurrency.

In July 2019, Blockchain.com launched its own crypto trading platform.
