Timothy Lee, a former Blockchain.info software developer has introduced ArcBit stating that it is the first mobile wallet with stealth address support.

Having been one of the leading developers of the HD wallet for iOS and the Web wallet at Blockchain.info, Lee quit the web wallet service team due to a disagreement with his former employer on customer privacy issues.

“While I was there, the company was making some design decisions on the wallet that I wish weren't made. One of those decisions ended up costing users some privacy, something I disagreed with,” said Lee to Cointelegraph.

The start-up developer named his own product “a true bitcoin wallet” unlike Blockchain.info and Coinbase. ArcBit’s main feature is keeping all bitcoin keys and backup passphrases on users' devices and not sharing them with wallet servers. “With ArcBit, no one but you can access your bitcoins,” promises the official website.

ArcBit provides HD wallet and stealth address support and enables bitcoin import from external sources such as watch only addresses. The new wallet doesn't require any subscription. Bitcoin stealth addresses allow users to publish a single fixed address that can accept payments privately and reliably. ArcBit provides an advanced mode for cryptocurrency experts while offering a simple interface for bitcoin beginners. Among some other useful features are an optional PIN protection and BIP32 private and public key import support.

Recently, Coinfox compared three mobile bitcoin wallets: Blockchain, Coinbase, and Mycelium. According to our review, the Mycelium mobile app proved to be the most appropriate service due to a simple interface and strong security.
