Bitnet, a Belfast and San Francisco-based bitcoin payment processor has partnered with Limonetik, a big European digital payment infrastructure and e-commerce solutions provider.

According to the press release, this strategic partnership will enable merchants to accept bitcoin payments through the Limonetic payment platform, regardless of their residence or market segment.

Limonetic customers interested in digital currency use will be able to easily add bitcoin payment option to their checkout pages. Bitnet ensures that e-commerce merchants will be able to accept digital currency with no risk of fraudulent transactions or bitcoin rate volatility.

Bitnet’s developers anticipate collaboration with their new European partners on providing the bitcoin payment option. “Our partnership with Limonetik enables us to plug into a proven and innovative platform which powers payments processing for a range of merchants, PSPs and marketplaces,” said Akif Khan, Chief Commercial Officer at Bitnet. 

Limonetik is a France-based payment solutions provider named ‘Cool Vendor 2015 in Digital Commerce’ by Gartner.

Launched in January 2014, Bitnet is a digital commerce platform enabling merchants to accept digital currency payments and providing bitcoin conversion to local currencies. The company’s team comprises of  CyberSource developers, the world’s largest payment gateway, and Visa’s former employees. Bitnet is targeting large retailers and competes with such established names as BitPay and Coinbase. 

As Coinfox recently reported, in February of 2015, Universal Air Travel Plan, Inc. (UATP) has established a partnership with Bitnet that would allow more than 260 international airlines to accept bitcoin payments.
