On October 8 the Spanish company BitPhone announced on its Facebook page that in about two weeks its users would be able to top-up their mobile phones using bitcoins practically from anywhere in the world. 

“Long live BitPhone! In 15 days you will be able to top up your mobile with bitcoins in practically from any place in the world! You can already do that in the United States, Paraguay, Peru and in the following week we are going to add 20 more countries!”

BitPhone is a web service which allows users to credit their mobile phones with bitcoins without registration. BitPhone supports major mobile operators in more than ten countries in the world (their extended service already includes 37 countries, for instance Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, China, and many more).

The payment process is very simple: the client only needs to choose the country, enter their phone number, indicate the mobile operator and the amount to be paid. Then, what is left is to proceed to payment using his or her bitcoins.

The company assures that the clients’ data is kept confidential by means of using encrypted connections. BitPhone works with more than 50 phone companies in the world, such as Claro, Jazztel, Simyo, and Tuenti, among others.

BitPhone a main bitcoin investment for Bitcoin Investors Trust, SMLLC, a company founded in 2015 in Girona, which mainly works with cryptocurrency-oriented projects. Besides BitPhone, the company's investments include the Bitcoin ATM operator ATMs Bitcoin Exchange, SMLLC and the mining farm for cryptocurrency HashingWorld. Bitcoin Investors Trust also manages the investment funds Hedge Fund BTC, Hedge Fund LTC and Hedge Fund EUR.
