A new service Credhot encourages users to share content on the web using the special link shortener connected to the Coinbase payment processor.

Credhot's link shortener works as any other service of this type – users just need to login with their Coinbase account before pasting a link. After they post the shortened link on the web they get daily rewards for the traffic the link generates, paid directly into their Coinbase account.

“I want more people to share more content. I believe it will make the world a better place.” explained Cameron Hejazi, Credhot's founder.
“I think this is a pretty cool use of our API,” said John Mardlin from Coinbase support.

Credhot's competitor is CoinURL, another tool for content monetisation which pays its users in bitcoin.

“I'm trying to improve on their model because I believe everyone is a content producer and, as such, should have access to monetization tools,” Hejazi said.

In April 2015 Blocktech started a crowdfunding campaign for the media blockchain project Alexandria, which would allow users to self-publish and share content with several different monetisation opportunities.
