The new bitcoin fork called Bitcoin God was not born on Christmas. The reason is lower block mining in the bitcoin network than calculated by the project organizers.

The festive fork of the original bitcoin called Bitcoin God will appear on the block number #501225. The previously estimated date of Bitcoin God's birth was 25 December. The day was chosen not casually, as on 25 December Catholics celebrate Christmas, which is Jesus Christs' Birthday. But the volume of block mining in the bitcoin network decreased, and the date of mining genesis block of Bitcoin God moved to 27 December.

The project Bitcoin God declares itself as a non-profit peer-to-peer organization.

"The community will decide on the quantity and receivers of its tokens. The tokens mined each day will be used for charitable purposes, out of which, 17 million will be airdropped to the current holders of Bitcoins (close to the outstanding amount of BTC). The remaining 4 million will be airdropped for charitable donations."

Bitcoin God holders will determine which charity projects will receive donations and what amount will be transferred to them.

"Our goal is to fill the world with love and make the world a better place!" the official Bitcoin God's website reads.

The key technical characteristics of Bitcoin God are the ability to write smart contracts, increased block size limit, Lightning technology support and Zero-knowledge proof protocol, which offers greater anonymity of transactions.

The Bitcoin God emission will be limited to 21 million coins, the same level as in the original bitcoin network.

The launch of the Bitcoin God main net is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018. In the second quarter, the smart contracts support based on Bitcoin God blockchain will be activated. Many major crypto-exchanges announced their support for the new fork, including South Korean Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, American Bittrex, GDAX and Poloniex, European HitBTC, Japanese Zaif and Chinese OKex, and many others.

The organizer of the project Bitcoin God is the Chinese cryptocurrency investor Chandler Guo.
