The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China published the first rating of the 28 most influential cryptocurrencies.

The China Electronic Information Industry Development Institute, entity founded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, released its first cryptocurrency rating. Ethereum took the first place, followed by Steem and Lisk. Bitcoin was granted only the thirteenth place in the rating.

 

The rating takes into consideration various aspects of certain cryptocurrencies: technology, application, and innovation.

According to the level of technological development, the leader is Steem became, Neo topped the rating in application sub-index, and bitcoin became the leader by implementation of innovations. The next rating will be published in a month.

During the conference, dedicated to the rating publication, Chen Zhong, professor of Beijing University, said that the blockchain technology is currently in its development stage and will change in the future. There are many challenging issues that need to be solved, and the actual scenarios of blockchain implementation need to be explored pragmatically. Market, legal, and regulatory measures for blockchain applications need to be promoted simultaneously, he added.

Previously, it was suggested that the official rating from the Chinese government will influence the prices of cryptocurrencies, but it did not affect significantly bitcoin or Ethereum prices.
