Manufacturers of the new bitcoin hardware wallet KeepKey hope to start shipping soon. They promise that their device will secure digital currency well.

The new hardware bitcoin wallet looks like a small metal rectangular. The dimensions of the new device are H3.8 cm x W9.35 cm x D 1.2 cm. This makes KeepKey very similar to external USB drives of the old days.

KeepKey has an ARM Cortex M3 processor, Hardware Random Number Generator and a micro USB connector inside the device.

KeepKey generates your bitcoin private key using its hardware random number generator combined with randomness provided by your computer.”
The device has a PIN-code and a complex password phrase to reduce risk of theft. It also has a special confirmation button on its side. Owners of KeepKeys will need to press the button any time they want to send bitcoins.

“KeepKey has been tested on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Our chrome extension is also available for each of these platforms.”

KeepKey has not announced the price of the device yet. The company promises to start sending the first version of the device soon.
