On Friday, May 26, Moscow hosted Russia's first international blockchain-the Genesis Conference Moscow Conference.
At The Digital October Center which brought together the most influential industry experts to discuss news, trends and exchange opinions.
The main part of the conference included seven presentations.
The conference was opened by Alexander Ivanov (Waves), who told us about the open blockchain systems, the latest developments of the platform, the crowdfunding, and the legitimacy of the conduct of the ICO in the world and the network scales up.
In a trace behind him was Alex Blagirev, Director of innovation of the Bank "Otkrytie". In his report he spoke about the pilot projects of the Bank in the part of the blockchain (the System of payments to individuals, KYC questionnaire), fork “Masterchain” and fast publication of a White Paper on this project, and the choice in favor of Ethereum.
Charlie Shrem (founder of the Bitcoin Foundation) spoke about the undeniable benefits of blockchain and the use of technology outside of cryptocurrency - related projects with smart contracts and the Internet. In his presentation, Charlie noticed that the Russian blockchain community is one of the largest in the world.
Answering a question from a participant at the conference, Charlie spoke about the Bitcoin Scaling Agreement about the activation of the Segregated Witness, which he was one of the first to state publicly the results of the Consensus conference 2017 held in New York from 22 to 24 may.
At the conference Dmitry Meshkov, the project developer for Scorex (a framework for prototyping) - presented a new cryptocurrency Ergo, featuring asymmetric design, in which the miners produce not only blocks, but also proof of them. Also he spoke about the problems and vulnerabilities blockchain technology faced by developers and miners.
Mika Lammi head of IoT Business Development at Kouvola Innovation Oy spoke about the project for SmartLog and the future of the blockchain. Kuovola Innovation is working on the introduction of blockchain technology in logistics, thereby helping the business to effectively organize its work. For example, one of the solutions of a startup was the introduction of smart tenders with supply chain. The essence of the project: if the products are equipped with a special tag, a request for its transfer from one point to another may be sent in the registry, where carriers have an auction and offer different shipping rates. The system automatically selects the best offer and the transaction is logged in the blockchain. As you progress the delivery can be traced all the steps in the chain.
Paolo Tasca, economist with FinTech, this is not the first year they have been studying blockchain technology, presented at the conference of the British Institute of UCL. Paolo shared information obtained on the basis of research, underlining that the transition from local to global use of Bitcoin will take decades.
We should also note the announcement of the open Blockchain Institute and grant Fund Waves on the research objectives, as stated by Dmitry Faller and Sasha Ivanov.
The conference ended with a panel discussion, which was attended by Artem Tolkachev (Delloite), Alex Blagirev (Otkrytie), Sasha Ivanov (Waves), Mika Lammi (IoT Business Development), Paolo Tasca (the economist FinTech) and Sergey Sholom (Co-founder MobileGo).
