Nine NFTs CryptoPunks tied to tiny pixelated portraits will be auctioned by Christie's. The auction house previously sold the Beeple art piece for $69 million.

Following the incredible success of the Beeple digital collage auction, which was sold as an NFT for $69 million, Christie's plans to sell NFTs pegged to nine digital portraits.

CryptoPunks is a series of 10,000 unique 24x24 pixel paintings created algorithmically by the studio Larva Labs, each of which is tied to non-fungible token.

According to the statistics of the development team, the NFT with the lowest price at the moment is an image worth 19.7 ETH ($40,896.61). In the previous 12 months, 8337 of the 10,000 emitted NFTs were sold. The total cost of all paintings sold was 134.3 thousand ETH ($278.81 million).

According to promotional materials, nine CryptoPunks works are auctioned in one lot. The auction will take place on May 13 during the 21st Century Evening Sale. Some CryptoPunks paintings were sold for over $7 million.

The first NFT, along with the corresponding physical artwork, was sold through Christie's back in October 2020.
