Gazprom Neft published a press release about its Smart Fuel blockchain platform in the form of a NFT token. This is the first time a press release is issued as a non-fungible token.

The design of the official statement of the company features a fragment of the Digital Twins art project made by a famous digital artist Maxim Zhestkov for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2021. The press release is dedicated to the Gazprom Neft's blockchain platform, a blockchain solution for instant aviation fuel payments. According to the company, the Smart Fuel blockchain platform allows to speed up mutual settlements between the fuel operator and the airline from 4-5 days to 15 seconds. With Smart Fuel, fuel requests, payments, and exchange of report documents are carried out online using apps on the tablet computers of the pilot and the tanker operator. Thanks to blockchain technology, transaction data is stored in the system and is available to all participants in the process. Smart Fuel can be integrated into an airline's electronic flight assignment and a digital aviation fuel accounting system at refueling trucks, which allows for fully automated refueling and data exchange.

Smart Fuel was successfully tested at Murmansk airport. With its help, more than 100 Smartavia flights were refueled.

By the end of 2021, it is planned to introduce Smart Fuel at other Russian airports where Gazprom Neft refueling complexes operate. The project partners are VTB and Raiffeisenbank.
